A major milestone for the Greek medical community has been achieved with the country’s first robotic telesurgery procedure, recently performed by Professor of Urology at the University of Patras and Chairman of the European School of Urology (ESU), Evangelos Liatsikos. While located in Wuhan, China, Professor Liatsikos successfully performed a robotic radical prostatectomy on a patient at Lefkos Stavros – The Athens Clinic.
How was this made possible? Through the advanced Edge Multi-Port robotic surgical system, which, under the full control of the surgeon and his specialized surgical team, enables highly demanding procedures – even remotely – with exceptional precision, high-definition 3D visualization, and unparalleled surgical flexibility.
Committed to maximizing the benefits of technology in service of the medical community, PROTON introduced Edge Medical to Greece in 2025. Already in the first half of 2026, Edge Multi-Port is transforming the landscape of daily clinical practice.
Medical innovation is no longer the future. It is the present!
